Redstone mourns the passing of Ms. Nancy H. Walker

(August 30, 2018) The Redstone Federal Credit Union family mourns the passing of Ms. Nancy H. Walker, a longtime board member and credit union advocate.

Ms. Walker was a Redstone Federal Credit Union member for more than 40 years. She was recruited in 1985 to join its Supervisory Committee and was later appointed to the Board of Directors.

As a director, she served on the Information Systems Committee, Credit Union Service Organization, Investment and Insurance Committee, Retirement Investment Committee, and as Chair of the Supervisory Committee. She graciously served on the board for 18 years, until her retirement on June 30, 2018.

Ms. Walker retired from the US Government after 35 years of service and a distinguished career culminating in the position of Deputy Director, Resource Management for Army Missile Command. Her federal training included extensive work in the financial management area.

Ms. Walker was a Huntsville, AL native, an Auburn University graduate and received numerous federal service awards.

She often said that her vision for Redstone Federal Credit Union is that “we will continue to provide innovative, safe and sound financial services that meet our members’ needs.”
