Redstone's culture change brings growth, awards

Redstone Federal Credit Union® believes in doing the right thing, the right way – every time. Continuous improvement experts refer to that principle as operational discipline.

However, at Redstone, it’s the way it does business. It ties directly to the credit union’s mission of improving the financial well-being of its members and communities by offering trusted advice, choices, opportunities and solutions. It’s a result of Redstone’s newly transformed culture.

To offer its members the best, Redstone must be the best!

Redstone was recognized in March 2018 for its culture transformation and for its operational discipline.

At the Business Transformation & Operational Excellence World Summit, Redstone beat out international financial institutions, such as BNY Mellon and State Street Corporation, to take home the Best Achievement of Operational Excellence in Banking, Capital Markets & Insurance award.

Redstone also won the summit’s highest honor - the Platinum Award for Best Achievement in Organizational Operational Excellence.

What does this mean for its members? Credit union officers believe it shows that Redstone never stops working to improve. From products and rates, to member service, Redstone is continuously improving and growing.

“We’ve dedicated tremendous time and resources over the past three years to deeply engage our employees in ‘results behavior’ to further improve our products and processes and, in turn, the lives of our members,” said Redstone President and CEO, Joseph Newberry.

Newberry sees a direct correlation between Redstone’s exceptional growth and its culture of accountability.

Examples of that growth include:

  • Loans grew by 960%
  • Average Annual Non-Interest Income Grew by 52%
