Redstone named NAFCU Credit Union of the Year

Redstone Federal Credit Union® was named Credit Union of the Year from the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) in June 2018. Redstone won in the category for credit unions over $250 million in assets.

“To be recognized by NAFCU as the Credit Union of the Year is such an honor,” said Redstone’s President and CEO Joseph Newberry. “Each day we strive to be a model credit union by enthusiastically serving our members and offering the products and services that meet their needs.’’

Redstone was recognized by NAFCU for its successes in the areas of: community give-back efforts; serving underbanked or low-to-modest income members; providing financial education to youth; and devising and implementing a cultural transformation process to better serve its members.

In October 2017, Money® Magazine named Redstone Federal Credit Union the ‘best bank’ in Alabama after an extensive review of its products, services, fees, interest rates and account requirements.

Money Magazine awarded Redstone best bank in Alabama partly because of its below average fees and higher than average interest on savings accounts.

Money evaluated the nation’s largest 90 brick-and-mortar banks, 50 credit unions, and 15 online banks, as identified by bank consultancy firm Novantas.
