Redstone Introduces its 2026 Community Champions
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Redstone Federal Credit Union announces its 2026 Community Champions, awarding each honoree’s organization $7,500 to enhance their services across North Alabama.
Now in its fourth year, Community Champions are Redstone members who turn personal passion and experiences into practical support for their communities. Redstone increased this year’s contribution in recognition of its 75th anniversary.
On August 20, this year’s honorees were recognized alongside family and friends during a ceremony at the credit union’s Twickenham branch.
The 2026 honorees are:
- Carlos Flores, Harleys for Hope: Delivers teddy bears and comfort to children facing illness, homelessness, and other difficult circumstances.
- Stacey Givens, Make A Way Foundation: Has built 31 sensory rooms in 21 schools, serving more than 1,000 children each month in Limestone County.
- Rosemary Jordan, Empowerment Through Change: Supports student achievement, music programs, college students and senior citizens.
- Ty Oswald, Bearded Warriors: Connects veterans and their families with camaraderie, resources and a supportive community.

“These Community Champions embody our ‘People Helping People’ philosophy by turning compassion into action,” said Joe Newberry, Redstone President and CEO. “They saw needs in their communities, stepped forward with solutions and are creating lasting change. We are proud to honor their leadership and invest in their work.”
Launched in 2023, the initiative has drawn more than 500 nominations from the public and its recipients have been awarded a total of $92,500 over the years. Redstone pairs financial support with documentary-style videos designed to help honorees grow their reach and attract volunteers and donors.
Previous honoree Robin Kramer said that because of Redstone’s Community Champions program, more adults with special needs now know about Next Step Farms and the valuable life skills they can learn there. “Wow, just WOW!! Being a Community Champion exploded our exposure to the unknown world,’’ Kramer said.
