Redstone Federal Credit Union Empowers Local Nonprofits with $230,000 in Community Impact Grants

June 26,2025—Redstone Federal Credit Union has awarded $230,000 in grants to three high-impact nonprofit organizations as part of its inaugural Community Impact Grant program. The initiative supports organizations driving measurable changes and addressing critical needs in the communities Redstone serves.

The selected non-profits are:

  • Creative Cities Fund – Raise Your Hand Initiative
  • Aum Foundation, USA, Inc. – Aum Campus Housing Initiative
  • Hustle Recovery, Inc. – Expanding Recovery and Workforce Development Initiatives in Middle Tennessee

The three selected organizations serve communities across Alabama and Tennessee and will use their funding to expand transformative programs that align with Redstone’s philosophy of “People Helping People.”

“These grants go beyond financial support,” said Redstone’s President and CEO, Joe Newberry. “Each of these nonprofits is expanding opportunity, creating access, and helping people move forward. We are proud to support them as they deepen their impact.”

As a credit union known for its generosity and support of its local communities, the Community Impact Grant helps Redstone build on its legacy of support. In 2024 alone, Redstone contributed $1.4 million in support of 983 requests from community groups for sponsorship and advertising.

Troy Sandifer of Hustle Recovery said they are honored to partner with Redstone in their mission of supporting meaningful employment and financial literacy.

“Our partnership with Redstone is more than just a grant - it's a shared commitment to creating real opportunities for individuals rebuilding their lives. With Redstone’s support, we will expand our workforce development and financial education initiatives, empowering people in recovery with the tools to achieve stability, self-sufficiency, and sustainable success,’’ Sandifer said.

John Allen, CEO, Huntsville Committee of 100 | President, Creative Cities Fund, expressed appreciation for Redstone’s ‘bold and substantial investment.’

“This generous grant directly supports the certification of National Board-Certified Teachers, advancing classroom excellence and long-term student success. Redstone’s commitment is a powerful statement of support for educators and the vital role they play in shaping thriving communities,” Allen said.

At the Aum Foundation, Alka Bhargav, Aum Founder, reminds us that “you don’t need permission to be empowered, you are empowered.’’ Their campus housing initiative is intended to help women secure safe and affordable housing while they seek an education.
