Oct. 31, 2025 _ Recognizing the service and sacrifices of our first responders, Redstone Federal Credit Union recently served more than 1,200 lunches to first responders during its annual celebration.
The First Responders’ Appreciation Luncheon marked 10 years serving in Alabama and Tennessee communities, offering meals on-site and packed to go. In Huntsville, 885 meals were served, with another 375 meals served in Murfreesboro and Fayetteville in Tennessee.
Jonathan Kirby, Vice President of Security and Investigations, says the luncheon is his favorite event of the year. “These men and women work alongside each other under some dire situations, but we offer them this opportunity to spend some time together while enjoying a good meal,’’ Kirby said. “It’s a small, but meaningful way to honor them.’’
Redstone’s initiative aligns with Congress’s designation of October 28th as National First Responders Day in 2017.
Mike Panesi, Vice President of Tennessee Market, said Redstone is grateful for the work that First Responders do in our communities to keep us safe and secure. “This event gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation for their commitment to public service,’’ Panesi said.
