Celebrating 75 Years with a Year of Giving Back

Redstone's Acts of Brightness

This heartfelt give-back program is designed to create real and meaningful impact in the communities that Redstone Federal Credit Union serves.

Through surprise gestures like paying for someone’s groceries or gas, our team members are spreading kindness and connection, one act at a time. These small but powerful moments reflect our mission of People Helping People.

To celebrate Redstone’s 75th anniversary, Acts of Brightness events will take place throughout 2026. Watch this page and Redstone’s social media for updates year round!

May

May was full of unforgettable moments as our teams brought Brightness to Huntsville and Fayetteville. At Food City in Huntsville, the store was packed and in just two hours, we helped families with more than $35,000 in groceries.

In Fayetteville, we visited Gerald’s Food Land, where we heard incredible stories from locals and helped put food on their family’s table for the next few weeks. It was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.

April

Our Brightness Teams spread joy across Rutherford County and Scottsboro this month! In Murfreesboro, we surprised shoppers at Aldi — and yes, we had to reassure a few folks it wasn’t an April Fools joke. One shopper, Delanie Walker, told us, “It was a great surprise. I am super grateful; especially in this economy right now.”

In Scottsboro, our teams visited two gas stations and spent nearly $1,000 filling up tanks for anyone who pulled in. We shared hugs, heard stories, and watched the relief wash over people as they realized the gas was on us.

Year in Review

January

Our Brightness Team kicked off Redstone's 75th Anniversary by spreading Acts of Brightness in Cullman, AL. We introduced ourselves to the community and celebrated our brand new Cullman branch. We also stopped into Warehouse Discount Groceries and bought food to stock locals' fridges and feed their families.

February

We spread Brightness from Cullman, AL to Smyrna, TN! Our brightness teams partnered with a local Cullman nonprofit to pay off people’s utility debt and keep their water and power on through the cold months. The team also went to Warehouse Discount Grocery to fill our neighbors' carts and a gas station to fill their tanks too! We ended the month in Rutherford County, paying utility bills and even adding credits to alleviate next month’s bills.

March

Our teams went to Publix and Aldi in Madison, to spread some Brightness by buying groceries and lunches for anyone that came in! We also stopped by Athens Utilities and paid people’s bills as they came in. Even Athens' mayor got to join in on the Brightness!
