What digital wallet apps does Redstone support?
Redstone Federal Credit Union supports Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Android Pay.

Does Redstone charge anything to use digital wallet?
No, Redstone does not charge members to use digital wallet. However, message and data rates may apply, depending on your data plan.

How do I get my digital wallet app?
There are many digital wallets to choose from. When you are comparing features, be sure to check which mobile device is required and which merchants accept the wallet.

1. Download the preferred digital wallet app from your app store (or it may be already built into your mobile device).
2. Add your credit card or debit card information to the digital wallet.
3. When you check out at participating merchants, access the digital wallet and choose your card.

If you’re making an in-store purchase, just hold your mobile device at the terminal.

Can I use multiple Redstone cards with digital wallet?
Yes, you can use multiple Redstone debit and credit cards. You can easily switch between cards whenever you make a purchase.

What are the security benefits of digital wallet?
Digital wallet uses tokenization, which is a unique digital account number, or token, that replaces the 16-digit account number on your credit or debit card. This token is securely stored on the device or cloud and used to make purchases. The credit or debit card number is not stored on the device, making it useless to fraudsters.

If a fraudster gets the tokenized number, is there any risk of fraud?
The token alone cannot be used to transact. Additionally, for a mobile wallet transaction, the token is verified using the device’s secured element, thus tying the token to that device. This prevents a stolen token from being used with another device.

What is a virtual card?
A virtual card is the digital form of your eligible physical credit and debit cards. When you add your physical card to digital wallet, it's stored as a virtual card. It will have a unique virtual card number associated only with the digital wallet and mobile device you're using. Creating a virtual card does not affect your physical card. You can still use your physical card as you normally would.

Are my credit and debit card numbers passed to the merchant?
No, your credit and debit card numbers are NOT stored on the device. This helps to reduce the potential for fraud. Instead, a digital account number is used, and passed to the merchant.

What should I do when I receive a new, renewed, or replacement card?
For any new or replacement cards, you will go through the initial set up of providing the basic payments details to add the card to your digital wallet. For a card renewal, the new expiration date will be automatically provided from Visa to the service seamlessly, with no action required by you.

What if my physical Visa card is lost or stolen?
If you lose your physical card, contact Redstone Federal Credit Union as soon as possible. Then, delete your digital account from your mobile wallet. Once you receive your replacement card you can add your new card to your mobile wallet.

What if I lose my phone?
Payments can't be made from your phone without being authorized via fingerprint or the PIN chosen during the setup process. If your device is lost or stolen, you can use its finding service to try to locate it. If you do not immediately locate your device, it is recommended you remotely disable the cards from the mobile wallet. Additionally, you should notify your mobile carrier and Redstone promptly. Mention that you added your card to mobile wallet so your card can be disabled. If you locate your device after this, you will need to add your card back to mobile wallet before making any mobile wallet purchases.

If I sell or give my mobile device to someone else, what will happen to the digital account information in the device?
When selling or giving away your mobile device you should make sure you delete all digital accounts in your digital wallet. Alternatively, you may reset your phone to factory settings which will also remove all digital accounts.

If I erase my device information or delete my cards from my digital wallet, does that cancel my physical cards, or can I continue to use them?
Erasing the information on your device has no effect on your physical cards, so you can continue to use your cards as you normally would. However, erasing your device or deleting your cards from your digital wallet will remove the virtual cards from your device and they can no longer be used. You can add your eligible credit and debit cards back at any time.

What if I decide not to use digital wallet – can I remove my digital account number stored on my device?
Yes, you are able to easily delete the account from your device. If you delete your digital account you will still be able to continue to make purchases with your physical payment card.

Do I need to be connected to the internet to use digital wallet?
For in-store contactless payments you do not need to be connected to the internet.

Will all merchants accept digital wallet?
It depends which application you are using and where you are shopping. You should continue to carry your physical cards to use where contactless payments are not accepted. In situations where you have to dip your card or in places where you don't swipe the card yourself (e.g., sit-down restaurants, hotels, etc.), it is better to use your actual card.

• Samsung Pay uses NFC and MST and can be used at almost any Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal that accepts card swipes.

• Apple Pay and Android Pay only use NFC and can be used only where contactless payments are accepted. Most merchants will display the contactless payment symbol to let you know they accept contactless payments:

What is NFC? NFC (Near Field Communication) wirelessly transmits data using radio waves. Digital wallet uses NFC to wirelessly transmit payment information to payment terminals with NFC readers that have been activated for use.

What is MST? MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) is a groundbreaking technology for sending data using magnetic waves with the same card readers retailers have been using for years. It replicates a card swipe by wirelessly transmitting magnetic waves to a standard card reader, enabling most card readers to receive mobile payments, except gas station pumps.

When a transaction is processed, does it still contain information such as purchase date, locations and merchants on the card or account statements?
The transaction details for a tokenized transaction will contain all of the standard transaction data.

Are my purchases protected under zero liability?
Yes. Whether you use a digital account number or a physical Visa® card, you are protected with Visa Zero Liability* against fraudulent transactions *The Visa Zero Liability policy covers U.S.–issued cards only and does not apply to ATM transactions, PIN transactions not processed by Visa, or certain commercial card transactions. You must notify Redstone Federal Credit Union promptly of any unauthorized use. Contact RFCU® for additional details.

How will a purchase made with digital wallet appear on my statement?
Your purchase will appear similarly as if you had made it using your physical plastic card.

What if I need to return an item?
Any returns should be processed as they are done today. If you return an item paid for through digital wallet, the store may require you to hover your device over either the card reader or the NFC reader to complete the return. However, individual merchant return policies may vary.

Will I receive a receipt after making a purchase with digital wallet?
When paying with digital wallet, you'll receive and sign a receipt for your purchases, just as you would with a physical card.

What payment information will be on my receipt?
Receipts should look the same as they always have. However, receipts created from digital account usage may display the last four digits of your digital account which may differ from the last four digits of your physical card.
