Super Bowl Sunday: Ways to Save on Your Party

Plan a great Super Bowl party without breaking your budget with these tips!

The 51st Super Bowl is February 5th.  That’s super soon!

If you start planning now, you can still throw an epic Super Bowl shindig without blowing your February budget. Check out these money-saving tips for your Super Bowl party.

Make your own team shirt

Try making your own team shirt instead of shelling out the cash for an expensive jersey. Stop by a dollar store and pick up some puffy paint, iron-on decals, and other fun t-shirt décor and have a t-shirt making party before the game starts. The ideas are endless, and you could even have a t-shirt design contest!

Make it a potluck

Cut some of the food costs by turning your party into a potluck. Ask your party goers to bring their favorite dish so you don’t have to purchase all the food. This is a great way to have a variety of tastes and creations without blowing your budget. Pinterest is a great place to find simple and inexpensive dishes to make for the big game.

Use CashBack offers

When shopping for food or decorations, use a debit or credit card that offers you CashBack. This way you can earn money back on any party purchases you need to make. There may also be special offers at restaurants that can help you save up to 10% on your food costs!

Save on décor

Save some bucks by skipping the plates with team logos and mascots. Opt instead for plates and décor that match your team colors. Or skip décor altogether to save; most of your guests won’t mind that your living room isn’t covered in team colors—especially if you are rooting for rival teams!

Find catering coupons

If you’re not much of a cook, you may turn to catering for your party. Catering can get expensive, especially if you are hosting a large party. Luckily, there are many online sources for catering coupons, such as RetailMeNot or Coupons.com. You can also find a catering discount for Chic-Fil-A in your Redstone Discounts!® You may want to call a few days ahead to ask about Super Bowl Sunday orders, and to make sure a coupon will be valid. With Chic-Fil-A, you will need to pick your order up on Saturday.

With these tips, you’re ready to have a Super Bowl party that doesn’t break the bank! Regardless of which team you want to win, you’ll have a great time with friends and family while having a little more money in your pocket.
