What did our Brightness Crews do this time in Murfreesboro?

Redstone Acts of Brightness Come to Murfreesboro

Our Acts of Brightness went all the way to Murfreesboro!

Our Brightness Crews were out and about once again! This time, our Brightness Crews headed to Murfreesboro for Redstone Acts of Brightness the day before our Rutherford Branch grand opening celebration. We stopped by three Murfreesboro gas stations to pay for gas for anyone who pulled up to the pump.

Our Brightness Crews were met with disbelief, smiles and even a few tears as they spread brightness throughout Murfreesboro.

“It warmed my heart. The day made me realize we were doing more than buying gas; we were impacting lives,” said Mike Panesi, Tennessee market executive for Redstone. “That's what we want to do for every person we come across, whether they are a member of Redstone or a member of the community.”

Redstone’s Acts of Brightness kicked off on National Random Acts of Kindness Day, which is celebrated annually on Feb. 17, to encourage acts of kindness. As part of the Live Brighter motto, we have decided to take the holiday to the next level and celebrate it all year long throughout all of the counties we serve.

Residents of Murfreesboro were blown away when they realized we were paying for their gas!
The brightness shined on about 100 motorists who were taken aback by the offer to buy their gas at the Circle K on South Rutherford Boulevard, Exxon station on Fortress Boulevard and TJ’s Donut Factory and Exxon on North Thompson Lane.

Marcia Roach’s dashboard light warned her she was about to run out of gas that morning when she pulled into the Circle K on the corner of Broad Street and South Rutherford Boulevard. A smile filled her face as Business Development Officer Brad Mankin told her he was there to pay for her gas.

“This was the sweetest thing I’ve come across in 20 years in Murfreesboro,” said Tony Reno who came in for gas. He said he would bring his son to the Redstone branch to open a new account because of the act.

We had a great time meeting so many people and helping spread some brightness!

If you have yet to run into our Brightness Crews, don't worry! We will be out in our communities each month with a different Act of Brightness. So far we have paid for gas, groceries and lunch. What do you think will be next?

Be on the lookout for our Brightness Crews in their bright yellow shirts throughout the year! All they ask is that the recipient pass the brightness along to someone else.
