Redstone Acts of Brightness Begins

February 24, 2017

Sharon, from our Business Market Development Department, brightened the life of this Alabama A&M student.

Our goal at Redstone is to help you Live Brighter. One way we are helping brighten our communities is through Redstone Acts of Brightness. Now through December, our Brightness Crews will be going into the communities we serve to help brighten people's days with random acts of kindness. What better day to launch this than on National Random Acts of Kindness Day?

Our Brightness Crews went out to multiple gas stations on National Random Acts of Kindness Day and paid for individuals gas. We did this as a thank you to people in our community and as a way to help brighten someone's day with a small gesture—one that they will hopefully pass on to someone else in their own way!

Did you spot our Brightness Crew out and about on February 17th?

You may have seen our employees in their bright yellow shirts handing out small cards during the event. These are our Redstone Acts of Brightness cards. If you receive one, we simply ask that you pass on a kind gesture along with the card. We want to help start a chain reaction of kindness in our communities and help make everyone's lives brighter.

If you receive one of our Redstone Acts of Brightness cards, make sure to pass it on!

While out and about during our Redstone Acts of Brightness, we heard many amazing stories we want to share with you. Below are just a few of the moments and stories captured from our short outing last week.

Kevin, who has been fighting brain cancer, was touched by a Redstone Act of Brightness."I have been fighting brain cancer since Oct 28, 2016. Redstone bought my gas on the 17th of February. With the money I have been spending on fighting cancer, this was an awesome act of kindness that will sit with me for a long time. It was a act of kindness needed for person who has been going through a lot," said Kevin from Athens.

We were excited to help people throughout our communities, both member and non-member alike.

Jade, from our Marketing Department, with a member of almost 40 years who opened their account at one of our first offices on the Arsenal.

We were happy to speak with this Hartselle police officer and help brighten his day.Sharon, from our Business Market Development department, with a police officer from Hartselle. He shared with us that it had been a very hard week. On Valentine’s Day, he had to tell two families that a loved one had been killed in an auto accident. He said Redstone being there and buying his gas was such a nice thing to happen after such a hard week.
