Impacting Lives: Redstone's United Way Campaign

January 31, 2017

The United Way of Madison County's goal is to help improve lives through advancing education, income and health.

For more than 30 years, Redstone Federal Credit Union has supported an annual fundraising campaign for the United Way. During this campaign, our employees are encouraged to make a donation to the United Way to help them achieve their mission of improving the education, health, and financial stability of those in our community. We're excited to share the results of our 2016 campaign with you!

The United Way impacts thousands in our communities every day. Their goal is to help improve lives through advancing education, income and health. Our campaign was focused on the United Way of Madison County, but donations from our employees will reach United Ways throughout Northern Alabama and Southern Tennessee.

We're excited to share the results from our 2016 United Way campaign!

The United Way of Madison County will distribute the funds raised to 42 different non-profit programs that are managed by 29 high-quality local service organizations. The money raised will help programs like The Arc of Madison County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Manna House and Heals, Inc. provide much needed resources, programs and services to our community.

Besides individual donations, many departments held their own fundraisers for the campaign. Employees found a variety of creative and fun ways to raise extra funds for the United Way. Bake sales, garage sales, to a department-wide raffle and vendor mart were all used to raise money. All of these events contributed to our "Special Events" portion of our donation.

“Redstone Federal Credit Union is our 2nd largest giving campaign. That doesn't happen by mistake,'' said Claudia Bucher, Director of Resource Development at the United Way of Madison County. "Joe Newberry walks the talk. He leads by example. He and his team know the importance of supporting the community and they do it with all of their hearts," she said.

"I couldn't be more proud of our employees and leadership team with the abundance of thoughtfulness and generosity we have shown United Way,'' said Yvette Banks, Executive Vice President at Redstone and United Way Board Member.  "Redstone employees serve our members and communities every day.  Giving of their time, talent and resources exemplifies the core philosophy of credit unions: "People Helping People". We are passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve and value our partnerships."

We want to thank all of our employees for donating to our United Way Campaign and are proud to help support such a deserving cause. If you'd like to learn more about the United Way of Madison County and how you can help them make a difference, visit their website
