See how you can give back to local school teachers and students.

Some parents don’t have the room in their budgets for a calculator, backpack or mechanical pencil. Often, the child’s teacher steps in and purchases needed items using personal funds. Redstone Federal Credit Union® is always looking for ways to help our communities. We can’t solve every problem, but we can be a part of the solutions.

Giving Back to Students and Teachers

Learn how you can give back to local students and teachers by helping Free 2 Teach!

This year, RFCU® donated basic school supplies to all of the Title 1 elementary schools in the seven-county area we serve. Title 1 schools are designated as such because they have high numbers of children from low-income families. As stated by our President and CEO, Joe Newberry, “People Helping People is more than just the credit union motto; it is the foundation on which we proudly support our communities and our schools.”

“Students need supplies to learn. Teachers need tools to teach. We are the store that connects our teachers with these essential tools and supplies, all for free.”

In addition, RFCU has partnered with the nonprofit organization, Free 2 Teach, to support its efforts to provide free resources to teachers in Madison County’s three public school systems. The Free 2 Teach warehouse supports 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and their 52,000 students. RFCU is offering a Free 2 Teach Affinity Debit Card, which is used like any other debit card, except that each time it is swiped, Free 2 Teach earns CashBack from Redstone. Stop by any branch or call today to get your Redstone Affinity Debit Card.
