We’ve scoured the internet to find you some great fall events to put on your calendar. We even found a few awesome camps the kids can attend during fall break! Over the Mountain and Through the Woods Fall Camp

When: October 3rd through the 7th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Where: Burritt on the Mountain, 3101 Burritt Drive, Huntsville, AL 35801

Children will love exploring nature and learning about life on a farm at Burritt's day camp over fall break.

Details: Your children can enjoy fall break at Burritt on the Mountain! Children kindergarten to fifth grade will enjoy hands-on learning activities specially designed to explore environmental, historical, scientific and cultural experiences while providing hours of fun! Register by September 27 to reserve your child’s spot!

Decatur Ghost Walk

When: Saturdays through October starting at 6 pm

Where: Meet in front of Old State Bank, 925 Bank St NE, Decatur, AL 35601

Ghosts from years past will entertain the entire family during this historic ghost walk in Decatur. Details: Hear stories of the past from a variety of ghosts on this brand-new walking tour in Decatur. Meet ghosts of Union soldiers, a riverboat captain and more on this captivating ghost tour that’s appropriate for all ages. Bring a flashlight and camera, and be sure to wear good walking shoes.

Huntsville Botanical Garden Fall Break Day Camp

When: October 3rd through the 7th from 9 am – 4:30 pm

Where: Huntsville Botanical Garden, 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35805

Children will learn all about animals and their habitats during the Botanical Garden's day camp. Details: Children from kindergarten through sixth grade will love learning about animal habitats around the world at this fall break day camp. They will explore the animals and habitats of the desert, tundra, forests, mountains, ocean and rivers through a variety of activities, projects and experiments.

48th Annual Huntsville Gem, Jewelry, & Mineral Show

When: October 7th through the 9th with varying hours by day

Where: The Jaycee Community Building, 2180 Airport Road, Huntsville, AL 35801

Beautiful jewelry, gems, jewels, and crystals await you at the Gem, Jewelry, & Mineral Show.Details: Enjoy the largest jewelry and gem/mineral show in North Alabama! Jewelry and gem lovers will find a variety of beautiful items from over 18 dealers. Children will love digging for gems and exploring the fluorescent room. Demonstrations of lapidary and other gem and jewelry related arts will also be on display.

International Observe the Moon Night

When: October 8th from 5:30 am – 9 pm

Where: U.S. Space & Rocket Center, One Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805

Enjoy the beauty of the moon and an array of fun activities with the family at Observe the Moon night! Details: Celebrate the beauty of the moon at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Enjoy hands-on interactive activities, including an out-of-this-world photo booth, airbrush tattoos, Astronomy Van, Janet Ivey from "Janet’s Planet” on PBS, DJ Shell, and seeing the moon up close with the help of telescopes and astronomers from the Von Braun Astronomical Society.

Punkin Chunkin Fall Festival benefiting Make-A-Wish® Alabama

When: October 15th from 11 am – 3 pm

Where: Big Spring Park East, 200 Church Street, Huntsville, AL 35801

Games, music, food and fun! Help support Make-A-wish Alabama at the Punkin Chunkin Fall Festival! Details: Who doesn’t love a fall festival with food, music, games and more? Enjoy all of this plus a pumpkin toss contest, carnival games, and the opportunity to meet local Wish kids. All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Alabama. Dress up in your best costume and enjoy games, fall-themed activities, music and a parade of costumes! You won’t want to miss a hay ride through the scarecrow trail or an adventure in the sorghum maze.
