Charity Finders: A New Leash on Life

Aunti Em, left, and Esteban are two pets waiting to be adopted at A New Leash on Life in Huntsville, AL.

Charity Finders, a Redstone employee group focused on helping local charities, held their April “Donation Journey” for A New Leash on Life. This charity works as a unique foster and adoption program for homeless dogs and cats. They provide medical care, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchipping, and some much-needed love to all animals who come to their shelter.

Dogs and cats not placed into a foster home or adopted live at the New Leash Lodge. Here, the cats get plenty of sunshine to lounge in and have many cat trees to climb, while the dogs have ample room to run and play along with lots of beds and toys.

You can also catch some of the adoptable animals at their Market Place. Here you’ll find a variety of gently used items—from clothing and jewelry to household items and furniture—for fantastic prices! Plus, all the proceeds go to help take care of the animals and place them in loving forever homes. The market runs entirely on volunteers and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.

Charity Finders and A New Leash on Life employees outside the Market Place. The Charity Finders team collected a variety of items for A New Leash of Life throughout the month of April. They were overjoyed to deliver the following much-needed items to the shelter:

  • 13 packages of copier/printer paper
  • 43 rolls of paper towels
  • 11 bottles of Clorox
  • 5 containers of cat liter
  • 19 boxes of envelopes
  • 27 tubes of disinfecting wipes
