We want to introduce you to the Redstone Carolers! This is a group of Redstone employees who have come together to form a caroling group. For over 20 years, the Redstone Carolers have gone out into our community and branches to sing Christmas carols to help get you into the holiday spirit. Read the story of the Redstone Carolers below, and get a peak at some of their recent performances! It's bound to make your day brighter.

The Redstone Carolers began by singing in our branches for our employees' and members' enjoyment. Slowly, the group began to branch out and sing at various places throughout the Tennessee Valley. The group has performed at senior centers, hospitals, pediatric wards and multiple other community organizations.

They love helping bring the spirit of Christmas to those in our community and have enjoyed many memories along the way, such as when they sang to past employee Sharon Rucker and her family. Sharon had recently lost both of her hands and feet to a blood infection. "We went there to make her feel better, and she ended up making US feel better. Her strength, positive and hopeful attitude and the love and support of her family was amazing to experience," says Mary Fisher.

"My all-time-favorite moment was when we sang at the Rehab Hospital, and the lady standing beside her husband was crying as we sang. I remember someone on the staff told us afterwards that he had not spoken since his stroke and that him singing along was why she was crying."
Kent Petty

The group has enjoyed spreading holiday cheer over the years. Sharon Junior, a long-standing member of the group says the caroling, "spreads some unexpected joy during the holidays. Most places could not believe we were all from the credit union. They thought we were a choir or group from a church." The group recently sang for our employees at our Wynn Drive location. Watch the video below for some wonderful holiday songs and see the Redstone Carolers in action!

It was hard to decide, but the group says their favorite songs to sing are "Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland," "Deck the Halls" and "Joy to the World." From singing at the Trinity Alzheimer's Daycare to HealthSouth Rehabilitation, the Redstone Carolers have definitely helped spread the holiday cheer over the years.
