Redstone's Culture Transformers

Redstone Federal Credit Union® believes in doing the right thing, the right way, every time. It’s a part of Redstone’s culture.

Over the past three years, Redstone has been working to devise and implement a cultural transformation process to better serve our members.

Those efforts are now reaping benefits. Employees are deeply engaged in ‘results behavior’ to further improve our products and processes and, in turn, the lives of our members.

BTOES Awards

Redstone recently won an international award – Best Achievement in Organizational Operational Excellence – which cites its successes resulting from cultural transformation.

Joe Newberry, Redstone’s CEO and President, sees a direct correlation between Redstone’s exceptional growth and its culture of accountability.

“You can create an amazing strategic plan,” said Newberry. “However, culture is the engine that drives strategic objectives and performance. It is the greatest tool for achieving organizational success—you need your people aligned and a culture that supports it to achieve results.”

This ties directly to our mission of improving the financial well-being of our members and communities by offering trusted advice, choices, opportunities and solutions, Newberry said.

To offer the best to our members, Redstone must always strive to be the best!

At the Business Transformation & Operational Excellence World Summit, Redstone won top honors for the way it serves its members and for its employee training. Redstone beat out international financial institutions, such as BNY Mellon and State Street Corporation, to take home the Best Achievement of Operational Excellence in Banking, Capital Markets & Insurance award.

Redstone also won the summit’s highest honor - the Platinum Award for Best Achievement in Organizational Operational Excellence. We went up against some excellent companies: Bristol-Myers Squibb, Apple Leisure Group, IBM, and Penn Medicine.

These awards looked at Redstone’s corporate culture and how it took specific steps to build a culture of accountability where each employee takes responsibility for member satisfaction.

A few months earlier, Money® Magazine named Redstone the ‘best bank’ in Alabama after finding that Redstone offers great rates on savings accounts and fees that are below the average charged by other financial institutions.

What does this mean for our members? Our members see that their credit union never stops working to improve. From products and rates, to member service, Redstone is continuously improving and re-evaluating itself.

Why do we do this? To help our members live brighter.
