Learn Something New This Year

Research shows that learning new things keeps life interesting and can even improve your health. Redstone Federal Credit Union offers an array of free seminars and webinars to feed your curiosity.

An article in Harvard Business Review says that lifelong learning can have benefits that improve your life, health and finances.

“The reasons to continue learning are many, and the weight of the evidence would indicate that lifelong learning isn’t simply an economic imperative but a social, emotional, and physical one as well,” according to the Harvard Business Review article.

If 2018 is your year to learn more, then Redstone Federal Credit Union’s extensive list of free seminars is just the place to start.  Hear from local experts in the fields of retirement planning, budgeting, insurance, fraud prevention, home buying, college financing, and so much more.

Redstone now offers seminars at an array of times and even online.  It’s easy to register and they are held at The Atrium, 220 Wynn Drive, in Huntsville, or our financial education team can bring them to you.

In addition to lunch and evening programs, there will be morning and afternoon sessions. You may also utilize online webinars for even more convenience.

Here’s a peek at some of the seminars planned for 2018:

  • Those already in business or thinking about starting a business might want to attend the Business Series. It is scheduled once monthly on Tuesday mornings.
  • Free for Lunch? There are lunchtime seminars coming up on: Caring for Aging Parents, Planning for Retirement and Cyber-security.
  • Now is a good time to sign up for the year’s first seminar: College Financing, scheduled for Thursday, January 25, at 6 p.m. Sign up here.

These seminars are just one aspect of Redstone’s many financial education efforts. Redstone’s team of Financial Education Specialists present financial literacy workshops at schools, colleges and universities, non-profits organizations, and businesses.

If your business or organization has a specific financial education topic in mind, our team will work with you to create the curriculum and then present the information to your employees or stakeholders.

“Our free customizable financial education classes are another way we connect with our community. You tell us what you need and we try to meet that need. That’s Redstone working to brighten lives,’’ said Mary Grace Evans, assistant vice president for Community Relations.

“Whether your group or business is interested in developing workable spending and savings plans, getting out of debt, or planning their financial futures, we are here for you. Our class material is completely customizable to fit your specific needs,’’ said Mary Grace.

Redstone utilizes its on-staff experts and brings in individuals from the community who make themselves available to share valuable information with our members and friends. With so much information ready for the taking, you may have a difficult time choosing which session to attend.
