Dialing 2-1-1 should always be your first phone call if seeking resources. It is operated by United Way and pulls together various organizations from throughout the area.

We’ve put together a list of resources for members who may need them. This list is not exhaustive, but may put you on the right path.

EMERGENCY NEEDS:

When basic needs are not being met, it affects so many other aspects of your life.  When members tell us they need food, utilities help or shelter, Redstone reaches out to its community partners.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING:

Sometimes a dramatic life event can create instability in a family, which can lead to them losing their home or becoming evicted. Some agencies specialize in providing housing to families until they can get back on their feet.

  • Family Services Center offers the LIFT Housing Program that provides housing for homeless and soon-to-be homeless families.
  • New Futures Family Lodge is a 14-room facility, with dormitory style rooms where homeless families can stay together.
  • Hope Place is a safe shelter for victims of domestic abuse and their children.

FINANCIAL:

When you need help creating a budget or help making your paycheck stretch until payday, here are some options.

  • Balance Financial Fitness Program offers free and confidential financial counseling and education online and by telephone. Call 888-456-2227 or click here for FREE financial counseling.
  • Redstone’s accredited financial counselors offer in-person consultations. Call them at 256-722-3796 to schedule an appointment.
  • Short-term loans at Redstone are designed to help members build or rebuild their credit. We offer lower fees and rates than most payday lenders.

Redstone relishes its role as a trusted advisor in the community and appreciates all the organizations, churches and individuals who lend a helping hand to make life a little brighter for everyone.
